Te Pūaha - Waterways and Marine Environment Scholarship Fund

The purpose of this fund is to support individuals who are involved in, or would like to be involved in, activities, programmes, and projects, that make the most of the Whakatāne District’s waterways and marine environment.

We are keen to support people who want to use this funding for individual projects and activities that are linked to our natural environment. Your project could be based around personal development, like education and study, or skill and knowledge growth. Your project could also be based around supporting outcomes for our community, like conducting research on our waterways and marine environment, or developing an environmental initiative.

Applications based around water sports will be considered, provided they can be linked to personal development or community outcomes.

We are currently accepting applications up to $5000. If you would like to apply for more than $5000, contact the Community Funding Advisor at grants@whakatane.govt.nz
